Quebec City
I recently travelled to Quebec City for the 'Quebec International Military Band Festival'. It was the first time I'd been to Quebec City, and I found the architecture in the old city "Vieux Quebec" to be very beautiful, so I thought i'd share.

My Summer thus far...
So, with the new addiction to facebook, I have seriously neglected my blog. I'm sorry to any of you who read this and don't use facebook!
So... a brief update on my summer thus far. I was, once again, in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, which proved to be yet another fantastic show. And in my new job, it was WAY less work than I was used to, and that made me happy!
Then, following that, I started 3 weeks leave! Which, I'm 2/3 of the way done now... and REALLY enjoying the time off. The Tallships Festival was in Halifax, so I spent time at the harbour drooling on all the amazing ships! I've been exploring the area, finding some cool places to bike etc. and even been sailing too. Other than that, hanging out with friends, meeting new ones, enjoying the few days of sunshine we had before the rain came back... all in all... a great summer! After next week I go back to work, and then head to Ottawa and Quebec City in August! So... it'll be september before I even realize it!!! Yikes!
Anyhow, a few photos to entertain you :)

Spring Concerts
So, facebook has taken over my blogging/internet time, and I've found myself neglecting my blog. But I know some people keep tabs on this, and I like to share pictures of the stuff I've been up to. Here are a few pictures from some of our recent concerts - some outside, some inside... we've been doing another set of school concerts, an Apple blossom parade and concert, and another evening concert in the Annapolis Valley.

Battle of the Atlantic Gala Concert
This evening we performed at Pier 21 in Halifax - for the Battle of the Atlantic celebrations - a major part in the history of the Canadian Navy. It was a long concert, filled with a variety of music, including guest singing by Liz Rigney who is a local Newscaster, bagpipes, and a bit of everything from the band. We finished off the parade with a tribute to Canadian soldiers, and it was very well received. Plus... we looked pretty sharp in our "high collared whites" uniform.

Royal Visit
Today, Prince Andrew paid a visit to Halifax. He is the Honorary Colonel for the Princess Louise Fusiliers. We were part of the parade that was held at the Halifax Armoury for him. It was a typical parade, with LOTS of rehearsal before hand, and then once it was actually time for the parade - we got all set and of course he was delayed for about 15 minutes... which turned into 20 or so. Very typical... makes me wonder why important people are always late?!?! Anyway, it was another experience to add to my list. It's weird, it doesn't even phase me anymore as to who will be at these events, whether it's the Governor General, Royalty, whoever... I just show up and play!

Inukshuks on Lawrencetown Beach
Mom and Dad are visiting, and we took a drive out to Lawrencetown today. Weather was good, not too cold. When they were here last time with Steve and Veronica, we all went there and built Inukshuks (doubt that's how you spell it). So we thought we would do the same thing today. It's also how amazing size can be distorted with camera angles :) but fun!
Lots of fun on the beach!!!
