On Saturday, Al, Tracey, Arianne and her ex-roommate Larissa and I went to Rainbow haven beach. It was a nice day, and we built a few more Inukshuks. But, Arianne, Larissa and i got a bit silly and decided to do a photo shoot. Check out some pretty fun pictures!

Battle of the Atlantic Gala Concert
This evening we performed at Pier 21 in Halifax - for the Battle of the Atlantic celebrations - a major part in the history of the Canadian Navy. It was a long concert, filled with a variety of music, including guest singing by Liz Rigney who is a local Newscaster, bagpipes, and a bit of everything from the band. We finished off the parade with a tribute to Canadian soldiers, and it was very well received. Plus... we looked pretty sharp in our "high collared whites" uniform.

Royal Visit

Today, Prince Andrew paid a visit to Halifax. He is the Honorary Colonel for the Princess Louise Fusiliers. We were part of the parade that was held at the Halifax Armoury for him. It was a typical parade, with LOTS of rehearsal before hand, and then once it was actually time for the parade - we got all set and of course he was delayed for about 15 minutes... which turned into 20 or so. Very typical... makes me wonder why important people are always late?!?! Anyway, it was another experience to add to my list. It's weird, it doesn't even phase me anymore as to who will be at these events, whether it's the Governor General, Royalty, whoever... I just show up and play!

Inukshuks on Lawrencetown Beach
Mom and Dad are visiting, and we took a drive out to Lawrencetown today. Weather was good, not too cold. When they were here last time with Steve and Veronica, we all went there and built Inukshuks (doubt that's how you spell it). So we thought we would do the same thing today. It's also how amazing size can be distorted with camera angles :) but fun!

Lots of fun on the beach!!!

nothing to report....
I know it's been a while since I last posted anything exciting... but nothing SUPER crazy has happened.... we've been gearing up for a few concerts at work... and I've been occupying my time getting super addicted to watching Prison Break!!! What a great show!
Upcoming events in my neck of the woods... my parents come to visit next wednesday, they're coming to see a concert we're doing in Windsor (Nova Scotia, not Ontario) the following day, and they're here for 10 days to explore the area with me. My first house guests! Hooray! (hope my place gets their stamp of approval!)
Then... a few weeks later, Arianne is coming back (hooray again!) to defend her thesis. I told her that I'm going to sit in the back row with a foam finger and cheer, but I don't think it's appropriate for the event... hmm... (still pondering!) Her parents are coming too, and will be staying here (my second house guests)!!! So things will be nice and busy for the next little while... just the way I like it!
So... I guess there was a bit to report... :)

Peggy's Cove
On Saturday my friend Rob and I went on an adventure to find lighthouses. We knew that it would eventually take us to Peggy's Cove. It was such a beautiful day although slightly windy. For those of you who don't know, Peggy's Cove is a famous litle fishing village in Nova Scotia, with an even more famous lighthouse. It's sort of one of the sights to see when visiting Nova Scotia. Anyhow... I thought I'd share a few lighthouse photos with you... hope you enjoy them.

as promised....
Here they are... the long awaited pictures of the condo. It's still a minor work in progress, with the little things, but you get the idea anyway. I painted my bedroom, it felt like I was waking up inside a lime every morning... a bit too bright. The only room I'm not willing to photograph yet is the sparebedroom/office/study/practiceroom in progress! It's still a bit of a clutter... but bookshelves and desks are up and stuff is out of boxes... so you'll have to come visit to see that one :) Anyhow... as you can see only half of my living room is taken up right now, the other part is waiting the purchase of a dining table of some sort... that's where the keyboard is right now.... yay piano! Sorry it took so long, but hopefully you can appreciate why now! COME VISIT!!! hehe....
